      Research Manager; Brighton (MI) / USA

      Job Title: Research Manager
      Practice: Automotive (with some CPG/Healthcare opportunities)
      Location: Brighton, MI (out of state applications will be considered)

      Company/Industry background: Psyma is privately held mid-size global market research company that was founded in Germany in 1957. Psyma’s U.S. practice was established in 1997 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Our purpose is to work closely with clients in the automotive, healthcare, financial, and consumer sectors to provide marketing research solutions that support their objectives and provide actionable insights.

      Position Description: A Research Manager is responsible for managing both qualitative and quantitative projects with minimal guidance from the Consultant. This person will act as the primary interface with the client.  This person should be able to effectively lead the internal project team, including Associate Research Manager, Director, Consultant, support teams and suppliers.

      Primary Responsibilities Include:

      • Manage the internal project team, including the Research Manager, Director, Consultant, support teams and suppliers
      • Develop new project proposals with minimal guidance from Consultant; address client objectives and recommend meaningful value-add opportunities
      • Consult with clients on study design
      • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal guidance from Consultant
        • Manage project timeline
        • Communicate with clients and manage expectations
        • Develop sample plans and weighting schemes
        • Write screeners
        • Write questionnaires and test programmed surveys
        • Write discussion guides (& prepare related stimuli)
        • Manage respondent recruitment
        • Ensure data quality
        • Coordinate and oversee logistics for on-site research
        • Fieldwork management, on-site for focus groups/clinics or online surveys
        • Manage all supplier partners, contractors or other vendors
        • Develop analysis plans
        • Check data tabulations
        • Write reports, including key insights and implications/recommendations
        • Develop create and meaningful report visuals
        • Seek out value-add opportunities
      • Manage project financials, including overall profitability, supplier/client invoicing, etc.; efficient project management, maximizing revenues
      • May include some moderating (TDI’s, exit interviews, online message boards)
      • May include some business development, including capabilities presentations, sales calls, etc.
      • Support other internal initiatives

      Job Requirements and Skills Include:

      • Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology, or other related field
      • Minimum of 3 years market research experience required
      • Automotive industry experience or knowledge is a plus
      • Well-rounded research skills, including experience in both qualitative and quantitative research
      • Ability to create research materials from scratch, without a template, based on client objectives and project needs
      • Effective written and verbal communication and comfortable speaking/presenting in front of groups
      • Strong client management and account management skills
      • Detail-oriented and highly-organized, able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
      • Excellent time management and prioritization, able to succeed in a fast-paced environment
      • Proactive and goal-oriented; inquisitive and eager to continuously learn
      • Capable of problem-solving and analytical and creative thinking
      • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SPSS
      • Strong leadership skills, able to work cooperatively in a team environment
      • Willing to travel domestically and internationally as project works requires (estimated no more than 25% of work days)
