This is a great tool for those who cannot afford to hire a consultant to do the project for them or want to enhance the skills of a team who will be participating in an upcoming project.

Psyma Workshop Methodology

  • Listen and Learn: the trainer will discuss the technique
  • Watch and Debrief: the trainer will demonstrate the technique
  • Read and Remember: the trainer will distribute the written documentation of the technique
  • Plan and Do: the trainer will give trainees an exercise to practice the technique

Ethnographic and Observational Research Workshops

  • How to Design and Manage a Project: a hands-on workshop covering topics such as how to determine research objectives, research techniques, type of respondents, recruiting, data collection techniques, research teams and data management
  • How to Conduct and Debrief a Project: an experiential workshop covering how to manage biases, enter a site, write an observation and discussion guide, listen and observe, take notes, debrief and build a field record. The workshop ends with an actual site visit so teams can practice their new skills and debrief the experience
  • How to Analyze the Findings from a Project: an experiential workshop covering the description, analysis and interpretation of ethnographic and observational research data. Specific analysis techniques, such as clustering, data mapping, theme development and relational diagramming, will be covered
